  • Panasonic Lumix S 24mm/ F1.8
  • compact wide-angle fixed focal length Lens
  • first-class video recordings - quiet autofocus
  • ideal Lens for landscape, architecture or interior shots
  • high imaging performance
  • attractive bokeh
  • Dust, splash water and cold resistant

The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 is an excellent wide-angle fixed focal length and the ideal lens for landscapes, architecture or interior shots.
It impresses with its high imaging performance and its nine circular aperture blades ensure a particularly attractive bokeh. Thanks to its compact size and low weight, the Lens also offers outstanding mobility. It is also characterized by a dust and splash-resistant design and can be used in the most adverse conditions down to -10° C. As part of the F1.8 lens series, it has the same size and position of controls and the same 67mm filter diameter for intuitive and consistent handling.
Finally, it also ensures high-quality video by suppressing focus breathing.

Panasonic LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 (S-S24) a fast wide-angle lens.
This is the third addition in the series of four announced F1.8 lenses, which expand the L-mount system for the mirrorless full-frame cameras of the LUMIX S series.

One lens, many shooting possibilities
The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 is suitable for a wide range of subjects thanks to its wide angle of view - making it the ideal lens for landscape, architecture or interior shots.

It also ensures high-quality video recording by minimizing focus breathing as much as possible. The aperture can be adjusted in extremely small steps, making exposure changes almost infinitely variable - another feature for professional video recordings. Weighing only approx. 310 g, the Lens is so compact that it can easily be taken to any shoot. The robust, dust- and splash-proof construction also withstands use in harsh conditions, even at minus 10 degrees.1

Identical dimensions for simple and uniform handling
The F1.8 lens series has a uniform size and position of the control elements to enable the same intuitive operation or simple adjustments for the use of the follow focus. Identical dimensions also allow the use of the same 67mm filters, the same matte boxes or an underwater dome port with different focal lengths. The comparable weight distribution also saves long adjustment times when the camera is on a gimbal.

Sophisticated lens design for best image quality
The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 Lens consists of twelve lens elements in eleven groups, including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses and one UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens. The use of three aspherical lenses and nine circular aperture blades enables both high imaging performance and an attractive bokeh effect with smooth sharpness/blur transitions. The ED lenses and the UED lens effectively suppress chromatic aberration.
Finally, in the joint development of the F1.8 Lens, emphasis was placed on a uniform image appearance as a further quality feature.

Particularly fine eye when focusing
The LUMIX S 24mm F1.8 works quickly and silently with the camera's high-precision contrast AF system at a maximum of 240 fps. When using manual focusing, a non-linear or linear setting can be selected for the focus ring. In the non-linear setting, the focus is shifted by a variable amount according to the speed of rotation of the focus ring, e.g. to switch more quickly between focus areas. Whereas in the linear setting, the focus is always shifted linearly according to the angle of rotation of the focus ring. The entire focus range can be traversed in 90 to 360 degrees (adjustable in 30 degree increments) in the linear setting.

Another F1.8 S-series lens in development
A new 35mm F1.8 lens is currently in development to further expand the LUMIX S-series lens range. Panasonic and the L-mount system alliance2 are committed to the development of L-mount lenses to best meet the needs of customers. Currently, over 70 Lens from different manufacturers are already available for the L-mount bayonet.
