The is the new member of the SIGMA fp series, the world's smallest and lightest* digital mirrorless interchangeable lens full-frame camera series.
The fp L features a full-frame Bayer sensor with approx. 61 effective megapixels. Thanks to this 61MP image sensor, it offers exceptional resolving power while still remaining true to the development concepts of the SIGMA fp - to be the "world's smallest and lightest full-frame camera to plug in", as well as allowing "smooth switching between still and cine modes" and last but not least, offering "outstanding customization and versatility". With a crop zoom that takes advantage of the high pixel count, this camera offers users an image quality and creative freedom that is only possible with a high-resolution camera. Shooting is made even easier with a variety of new functions and accessories. These include hybrid autofocus (AF), which combines contrast and phase detection, and USB charging when the camera is switched on. A new optional electronic viewfinder, EVF-11, will be available at the same time as the launch of the camera. Key features of the fp L [The four new features of the SIGMA fp L]
61 megapixels. The highest resolution ever presented by SIGMA.
We have utilized our knowledge of image processing technology from Foveon sensors. The very high resolution of the SIGMA fp L can fire your imagination and the low-pass filter, further contributes to the optical performance.
The SIGMA fp L features a Bayer sensor with approximately 61 effective megapixels, more than any other SIGMA camera before. Thanks to the particularly high megapixel count and SIGMA's experience in developing cameras with a Foveon sensor, which is known for both its exceptional resolving power and nuanced color gradient due to the unique nature of the X3 sensor, the camera can reproduce crisp and color-rich images in addition to images with fine detail. The Foveon sensor is also known for its image quality, which is essentially free of color artifacts. It was one of the reasons for the decision that the fp L should have a low-pass filter to reduce moirés to a minimum. The use of a low-pass filter was a sensible decision for a camera with such a high megapixel count as the SIGMA fp L.
Crop zoom

A high megapixel count means that images can also be taken with a particularly high zoom or crop factor. This was one aspect of a high-resolution camera that prompted SIGMA to equip the fp L with a crop zoom function that can be used in both photo and cine mode. Thanks to the particularly high megapixel count (approx. 61 effective megapixels), the fp L can capture images in Full HD quality even at maximum 5x zoom. As cropping takes place without digital amplification, the image quality does not suffer. To make the function more intuitive to use, you can zoom in and out on the LCD touchscreen using two fingers.
Hybrid autofocus

In addition to an extremely precise contrast AF, the SIGMA fp L has a fast phase AF at sensor level. With this hybrid AF, users enjoy smooth autofocus that is highly accurate, fast and excellent for tracking a moving subject - whether shooting stills or video.
Unlimited power supply
Many hours of uncomplicated USB cable power supply.
The SIGMA fp L supports USB charging while the camera is switched on. You can shoot without interruption while charging the camera via a mobile battery - whether outdoors or wherever there is no power outlet. When used as a webcam, you can connect the fp L to a PC via USB. It then functions as an audio-video input device while being supplied with power via the PC. So you can use your camera for many hours without worrying about the battery not lasting.

With the fp L you can now save a custom camera setting. Saved settings can be saved as a QR code file, allowing you to quickly load many customized settings. Powder Blue is a color mode with a bright, cheerful mood in a fresh shade of blue. Duotone transforms the colors of an image into a stunning two-tone gradient. With the addition of these two new modes to SIGMA's already extensive selection of color modes in the fp series, there are now a total of 15 color modes to choose from. They definitely bring a wider range and more freedom to your photos and videos with the fp series.
