However, many models can deliver higher quality with an external monitor than they can internally. An external video monitor with a recording function removes this limitation. Videographers for weddings, events, or stage events especially benefit from a recorder. If a camcorder is not used on the job, there is a limit of 30 minutes per clip. By this default, the videographer has to restart the recording. So it is necessary to watch the camera and there will be a gap in the footage. The field recorder takes care of this on its own and the cameraman can take care of another camera.
In the professional field, other functions are added. In addition to visual supports such as focus peaking , waveform, zebra and 3D LUTs, the recording option here adds an extension of the recording formats. 10bit 4:2:2ProRes, DNxHR as well as CDNG Raw formats can be available if the camera enables this via HDMI or SDI.
