The new Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 is the first representative of the lens series designed for high resolution 8K UHD.
The highly developed optics are based on the previously known Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 lens. The optics are made of 12 lenses in 9 groups, four of which are made of high refractive glass (HR) and three of which are made of low dispersion glass (ED). As a result, the lens delivers extremely sharp images, chromatic aberration has been almost completely corrected and distortion is less than 0.1%
Thanks to internal focusing,
the "breathing" of the optics when focusing has been reduced to a minimum.
Improved mechanics
We know exactly how important it is to provide the customer with a solid cine lens. Previous Irix Lens are known for their solid mechanical construction. In developing the Cine series, we have focused on perfect operation and maximum precision. Quiet and buttery smooth rotation of the focus ring has been achieved with a new MST alignment of the lenses - developed specifically for the Irix Cine series. The new Multi Start Thread mechanism, combined with a sealed lens housing, guarantees durability and the ability to shoot with the Lens in all weather conditions. The rotation range of the ring has been increased to 270 degrees, which increases the adjustment accuracy at short and long distances. The Lens will be available in two different versions of the distance scale: Depending on the region, with metric or imperial units of the focus scale.
The utmost attention has also been paid to the aperture mechanics - 11 aperture blades with rounded edges ensure pleasant appearance of objects in the out-of-focus area. This also largely reduces diffraction at the aperture, even if the Lens is stopped down considerably. The aperture ring can be rotated at an angle of 75 degrees and allows the aperture to be set continuously in the range from T3.0 to T32.
Unique design and well thought-out ergonomics
One of the most important features of the new Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 is its outstanding ergonomics. The sides of gear rings are protected by lateral rings, providing a larger grip surface for the hand, without restrictions for follow focus systems. More information on the Adaptive Ring System will be announced soon. To improve the readability of the scales, the gray areas have been filled with UV fluorescent paint.
Ready for all weather conditions
The new Irix Cine 150 mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 was developed as a tool for all occasions - so that it can also be used in unfavorable weather conditions. The lens housing has been protected with seals and other measures against dust, dirt or moisture. This construction provides the necessary protection not only for the lens, but also for the image sensor.
Innovation in the standard
The above-average ease of use and innovative solutions are the trademarks of the Irix brand. The Cine Lens is equipped with the unique Magnetic Mount System for accessories. The MMS allows accessories to be exchanged quickly and easily. The first accessory in the MMS system is the supplied sun visor. Further accessories will soon be available on the market.
